Working Principle & Installation Steps of Radar Flow Meter
The AN-HWRFR15 Radar Flow Meter adopts advanced planar microwave radar technology. It measures water flow velocity and water level in a non-contact manner, and calculates and outputs real-time cross-sectional flow and cumulative flow via built-in software algorithms. It is widely applied for flow measurement in rivers, irrigation canals and other scenarios. Below are the operation steps:

- InstallationDetermine the installation position first and follow the manufacturer’s guidelines. Normally, mount the flow meter perpendicular to the pipeline with no obstacles blocking the device.
- ConfigurationSet parameters according to measurement requirements and product specifications, including density, temperature and pressure of the measured medium, as well as the measuring range and output signals of the meter.
- Power and Signal WiringConnect the device to the power supply, and link signal cables to external equipment such as data acquisition systems as required.
- CalibrationCalibrate the meter before formal operation. The process includes setting reference points, adjusting zero and full-scale values, and verifying measurement accuracy through flow calibration.
- Start-up and MonitoringPower on the device and conduct real-time monitoring. When fluid passes through, the meter emits microwave signals. Flow data is calculated based on signal strength, time delay and other feedback parameters.
- Data Analysis & RecordingAnalyze and record the output data to track flow variations. Generate reports or conduct further data processing as needed.
- MaintenanceRegularly inspect the operating status, clean the sensor and ensure normal operation. Contact the manufacturer timely for repair or replacement in case of faults.
