Model AN-PDF11 portable Doppler flowmeter is matched with dedicated Doppler flow sensor. Pre-stored with channel section models including trapezoid, rectangular and circular shapes to conveniently calculate flow rate of common open channels. It adopts built-in temperature sensor for water temperature measurement and pressure sensor for water depth detection. The host unit is equipped with full touch screen for easy operation and powered by a 12V rechargeable battery. | |
Working Principle | |
Doppler Flow Measurement Principle:When relative movement exists between ultrasonic transmitter and receiver, the received ultrasonic frequency differs from the transmitted frequency. Waterborne suspended particles and tiny bubbles moving with water flow cause frequency shift of received ultrasonic signals; the frequency shift value rises along with the moving speed of suspended substances. The measured Doppler frequency shift is converted into flow velocity of water. Multiply flow velocity by channel cross-sectional area to acquire flow volume. Since sound velocity in water varies greatly with water temperature, a built-in temperature sensor measures water temperature to revise acoustic velocity for accurate velocity calculation. Water level is measured via diffused silicon pressure sensor to detect vertical distance from the velocity probe to water surface. | |
